NIFT GROUP DISCUSSION AND INTERVIEW (MFM, MFTECH, M.DES)
NIFT (MFM, M.Des, M.Ftech) conducts Group Discussion and Interview for those students who have provisionally shortlisted after NIFT first phase Result. NIFT has 30% marks weightage for Group discussion(15%) and Interview(15%), so this is a important phase for improving candidate all India ranking.
- Generally Group Discussion is of 8 to 10 candidates
- Students will be given case study and they will be coming with the solution of a given problem after discussion within limited time.
- A panel will observe the candidates and will give marks accordingly.
- GD’s are conducted to test candidate:
1. Managerial Skills
2. Interpersonal skills
3. Leadership
4. Analytical and Rational Thinking
5. Knowledge and Personality traits
10 Group Discussion Tips:
- You must be audible to the groups but don’t be louder.
- While Discussing do not look at the panel who is observing you.
- You have to be assertive
- You have to make the chances giving conclusion to the topic.
- Don’t speak for the sake of getting chances, be logical so the group will come to the conclusion.
- Participate in as many practice GD’s before attend actual GD.
- You should have a good knowledge base.
- The quality what you speak is better than quantity.
- You should work as a team, appreciate other speakers if you find them logical and giving direction to the topic.
- If group is stuck at one point come the new ideas for conclusion.
Interview Tips:
- Eye Contact : Make eye contact
- Be honest: Honesty is the best policy so don’t lie to the interviewer, if don’t know anything then simply say no to that.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills are required for interacting with interviewer.
- Subject Knowledge: Study what you have studied in your graduation or qualifying exams and must have idea about the courses you have applied for your course.
- Say Thanks : Say thanks when required and don’t make it access of anything.
- Ask questions: Ask genuine questions if you have from interviewer.
